Continue your Health Living Journey - Let your voices be heard

Iowa Avenue’s mission statement is:
A dynamic healthy-living social community connecting people in a meaningful way for a meaningful purpose. It’s about health, fitness, and weight loss, with a little fun thrown in for good measure.
One of the ways we’ve connected with each other is through our mutual blogging.
Our blogs have provided us the means, ways, and ability to be able to express our thoughts, ambitions, worries, struggles, triumphs, and personalities.
Part and parcel of blogging, are the comments on each blog.
Comments are a great way to learn how others agree or disagree with each other, offering feedback, and providing for and creating new ideas and thoughts.
It’s rewarding to see how people learn about different issues of healthy living, and through that process they are able to use the information presented by the blogger and through the community’s comments, see how various points of view can galvanize and coalesce thoughts, pre-conceived ideas, and motivate people to change.
In addition, comments just make the blogger feel good, knowing they touched someone, through their words and pictures, for them to read the topic, and take the time to leave a comment because of our group’s interest in achieving healthier lifestyles.
Another way to make connections and to exchange information here at Iowa Avenue is using our discussion forums.
We’ve always had them, but they’ve been underused. I’d like to help change that, but I need your help.
In that vein, I moved the discussion forum to the top of the homepage. Don’t worry; the blogs are still there but they are located now under the forum/s.
The blogs will always be on the homepage; but, the forums offer a different way for us to connect in a meaningful manner for a meaningful purpose. I’m very excited about this approach as I’m sure you will all be as well
There are currently three discussions:
“30-Day Fitness and Weight Loss Challenge”
“Do you think counting calories is important?”
“Should cooking classes be required in schools?”
Get involved and share your thoughts about these issues with each other.
More importantly, if you want to discuss something else, feel free to start a new discussion.
Iowa Avenue is your community.
Keep in mind that a healthy lifestyle means different things to different people so it isn’t only relegated to weight loss, fitness, but can include exercise, home, finances, relationships, emotions, family, and just life in general.
We are only limited by our own imaginations, because
After all, it’s about a healthy lifestyle!
