Is your extra beef weighing you down?

While I was at the grocery store I picked up a five pound package of beef. Suddenly it dawned on me; this package of beef represents 5 extra pounds I’m carrying around with me everyday. It was much heavier than I thought. When I’m walking, working, or just doing daily activities, I don’t notice those extra 5 pounds, but holding, seeing it, and touching it, was the best visual I could have imagine.

How many extra pounds of beef are you carrying with you?

We tend to take our bodies for granted. But for our bodies to function better, to avoid illness, disease, and to keep from aging faster, these extra pounds are not good for us. Although you might have heard it before, it bears repeating.

The health risks of being overweight are:

  • Heart Disease
  • High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)
  • Stroke
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Abnormal Blood Fats
  • Metabolic Syndrome
  • Cancer
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Reproductive Problems
  • Gallstones

Next time you have trouble doing something physical that you take for granted, remember the beef.

Or even better, the next time you eat more than you should, or don’t exercise, remember the beef.

You don’t need those extra pounds of beef on your body, because

After all, it’s about a healthy lifestyle!
